KISS Guitarist TOMMY THAYER Answers Fans' Questions
August 10, 2005KISS guitarist Tommy Thayer recently answered a few questions from fans via his official web site. A few excerpts from the Q&A session follow:
Q: What was the first song you ever heard on tape that you recorded in a studio? What went through your head listening to it?
Tommy Thayer: "It was back in my early days. I was in one of my first groups in Portland, OR called MOVIE STAR. We had saved up enough money to do a three-song demo at a very small recording studio in Vancouver, WA. It was strange because it was the first time I'd heard my guitar recorded, let alone doing overdubs. We were proud of that tape even though it probably wasn't very good."
Q: Are there any actresses you think are sexy or ones that cause you to go see every movie they make?
Tommy Thayer: "Not really, I'd say I'm not the actress type, although I've always thought Ashley Judd and Selma Hayek look very good."
Q: What names have you used to check into hotels? I have heard Gene Simmons used to go by Clark Kent and Paul Stanley has used Don Juan!
Tommy Thayer: "Wow, I hadn't heard that one. One of mine from days past that comes to mind is 'Fred Garvin' (male prostitute) ripped from 'Saturday Night Live' fame."
